Man Develops System To Find Hidden Road Cameras

Notification Of Locations Sent Through GPS

UPDATED: 7:36 am CDT July 24, 2008

An entrepreneur from Washington, D.C., said he's just trying to level the playing field for motorists.

Joe Scott is the founder of phantomalert.com. It's a business that allows drivers to download camera locations of red lights and speed enforcement cameras for GPS devices.

Drivers who don't have a GPS can purchase a wallet-sized warning device, WISC-TV reported.

"We have police officers coming to our Web capitalize site telling us where the speed traps are," said Scott. "We have police officers buying our product and using it."

The subscription is free. The Phantom Alert system depends on drivers to log on and report the locations of cameras.
