MADISON, Wis. -- Residents of Janesville and those traveling through the city will found travel through the flood ravished city much easier now that the intersection of Centerway and Main Street and Centerway Bridge has re-opened to two-way traffic.

The Centerway and Main Stree intersection and the Centerway Bridge have been re-opened for two-way traffic travelling on Centerway with one lane in each direction.

Main Street north and south of the intersection remains closed. Some water still exists in the intersection and motorists utilizing Centerway are advised to proceed with caution.

In addition, city officials are urging residents to stay off River Walk and away from river walls, WISC-TV reported.

Floodwaters have receded off of the river walk and river walls in portions of downtown.

Those structures are being assessed for damages sustained during the recent flooding. The river walk remains closed and residents are urged to stay off of the river walk and stay away from the river walls until the damage assessment for these structures can be completed and necessary repairs performed, WISC-TV reported.
